Professor Helen Brough
Founder – Consultant in Paediatric Allergy & Immunology
Professor Brough is a Consultant in Paediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology and the founder of Children’s Allergy Doctors. She has been the Head of Service of the NHS Children’s Allergy Service at Evelina London, St. Thomas’ Hospital since 2015. She has a wealth of experience in food allergy prevention, diagnosis and treatment, food and inhalant immunotherapy, eczema, asthma, and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders.
Professor Brough was awarded ‘Health Professional of the Year’ in 2010 by Coeliac UK, the Barry Kay award for excellence in Paediatric Allergy research from the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology in 2013 and the Distinguished Clinician Award from the American Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology in 2020.
Dr Erika Harnik
Consultant in Paediatric Allergy & Immunology
Erika is a Consultant and Head of Service in Paediatric Allergy & Immunology at Imperial College London. She trained in Paediatric Allergy at the Evelina Children’s Hospital, St. Mary’s hospital, Royal Free Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital. She received a distinction in her Master of Sciences degree in Paediatric Allergy from the University of Southampton. She is an excellent, thorough and dedicated doctor with a wealth of experience and excellent rapport with parents and patients alike.
Dr Andreina Marques Mejias

Specialist Doctor in Paediatric Allergy
Dr Andreina Marques Mejias is an Allergist trained in Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid with a PhD from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. After completing her training, she moved to London, where she has been working in the Paediatric allergy department at Evelina Children’s Hospital. She has a special focus on paediatric allergy research as a co-investigator of prevention, diagnosis, and food allergy treatment trials. Dr Marques Mejias speaks fluent Spanish, English and Portuguese.
Karen Wright
Specialist Dietitian (RD) MSc Allergy
Karen has worked as an allergy specialist dietitian in the NHS at St Mary’s Hospital and in research at St Thomas’ Hospital, London and currently works for the University of Southampton as a clinical teaching fellow for the Masters of Sciences Allergy degree (MSc). Karen gained a distinction in the MSc Allergy degree and was awarded the AAIR Holgate Award for Excellence in Allergy from the University of Southampton. In 2021, Karen was awarded the Anthony Frew Award for Excellence in Allergy Education by the British Society of Allergy and Immunology. Karen is also joint chair of the British Dietetic Association Food Allergy Specialist Group.
Louise Cameron
Clinical Nurse Specialist
Louise is a clinical nurse specialist at Children’s Allergy Doctors and at the Portland Hospital where she runs the day unit service for oral food, drug and latex challenges. Her training took place at Great Ormond Street hospital with South Bank University, where she achieved a BSC in Children’s Nursing. Prior to moving into the speciality of allergy, she worked on a variety of wards including Accident & Emergency. She is a kind and caring nurse who always has time for patients and their families.
Hannah Smyth
Clinical Nurse Specialist
Hannah is a clinical nurse specialist at Children’s Allergy Doctors. Hannah graduated from King’s College London with a BSc in Children’s Nursing. Since qualifying, she has spent time working on various general paediatric areas; gaining experience caring for atopic children throughout. She has experience in doing allergy testing, parent and child education, respiratory function testing, food challenges, immunotherapy, and drug provocation testing. She is a compassionate nurse who puts patients and families first.
Melanie Davies
Clinical Nurse Specialist
Melanie is a clinical nurse specialist at Children’s Allergy Doctors and at the Portland Hospital where she runs the day unit service for oral food, drug and latex challenges. After graduating from the University of Hertfordshire in 2009, Melanie commenced her nursing career at King’s College Hospital. Having worked in Accident & Emergency, paediatric neurosurgical and the children’s’ day unit, she started working in Paediatric Allergy in 2014. She is a very experienced nurse who knows how to put parents and their families at ease.
Tracy Kennedy
Practice Manager
Tracy is our Practice Manager with over 30 years of management experience. Tracy originally qualified as a nurse at University College Hospital, London where she staffed for several years. Tracy then trained and qualified as a Medical Secretary and worked for many years in private practice management. Tracy manages all areas of the practice including billing and practice development.
Tracy enjoys providing an excellent, friendly service to every patient and contributes to the quality of care. She is happy to assist you in any of your child’s needs and looks forward to speaking to you.

Chantelle is our Accounts Manager / PA and is very experienced with over 8 years in the private healthcare sector and has worked for various specialties including paediatric psychiatry, dermatology, plastic surgery, gynaecology, genetics and orthopaedics. Chantelle has a BSc Hons in Psychology and Criminology. Chantelle’s focus is to provide excellent customer service to all our patients and is happy to help with any accounts or practice related queries.

Irene Bartha
Paediatric Allergy Doctor
Dr Irene Bartha finished her training in Allergy in University Hospital La Princesa and University Hospital Niño Jesús in Madrid, Spain. Her Ph. thesis studies the relationships between allergy, environmental factors and pregnancy. She currently works in Paediatric Allergy at Evelina Children’s Hospital, King’s College London and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London. She has a special focus on food allergy diagnosis and food allergy treatment/immunotherapy. She speaks Spanish and English.
